140. The Devil Speaks

A/N: Point of view switcheroo chapter! This one is from Aston’s perspective.

My brother’s house is absurdly large.  It’s just him living here right now.  He really doesn’t need it, but he managed to talk his father into it with some fib about getting married.  I’ll be surprised if the girl says yes.

Screenshot-4275

He has a rather high esteem of himself, my brother.  Thinks he’s so wonderful because he managed to come back to life.

Screenshot-4277

Well, he won’t be able to escape me twice.  I’ll make sure of it.

Screenshot-4283

What do you know, he actually talked his girl into it.

Screenshot-4284

Enjoy it while it lasts, little snowflake.

Screenshot-4286

I am always watching.

Screenshot-4288

The parental units arrived for the wedding.

Screenshot-4289

She looks rather happy, doesn’t she?

Screenshot-4290

If they really love each other, then all the better.

Screenshot-4292

It’s always best to strike at the heart…

Screenshot-4294

…for maximum chaos.  That is the first and foremost rule my father taught me.

Screenshot-4296

Of course, my mother has always preferred my brother over me.  He’s just so special.

Screenshot-4308

Mother did some strange magic in the couple’s nursery.  I think it was for good luck or something similarly useless.

Screenshot-4298

“Dad, there’s something I’ve got to tell you.”

“What’s that, sweetpea?”

“I’m pregnant.”

Screenshot-4297

I knew I shouldn’t have waited until my brother’s marriage was complete.  But I thought it would be even worse for him if his marriage was consummated and then I destroyed everything.  More heartbreak, see?

Screenshot-4302

Instead, I get to wait some more.  My Aunt Kalliah would have Aunt Toya kill me if I hurt the unborn.  She’s a little too soft in the heart.

Screenshot-4303

Oh, look.  Nauseating romance.

Screenshot-4305

Hurry up and get out of there, spawn.  I have things to do.

Screenshot-4309

I was sorely tempted to send their books flying, just to see their reactions.

Screenshot-4317

I was not making any real effort to hide.  Why should I?  I am far more powerful than my dead fairy brother.

Screenshot-4318

“Snow?  What’s up?”

Screenshot-4312

“I just thought I saw something moving out there.  Something red.”

Screenshot-4313

“Something red?  Like what?”

“I couldn’t tell.  It moved too fast.  Maybe a deer.”

Screenshot-4311

“Don’t worry.  I’ll always be here to protect you and the kid.”

Or so you think.

Screenshot-4319

If there is one good reason to do this, it’s so this sickeningly sweet nonsense ends with my brother and his wife. The other far more important reason is because somebody who died shouldn’t get a second chance at life.

Screenshot-4320

I couldn’t hold it in any longer.  I had to do it now.

Screenshot-4322

Unfortunately, the wife had a fire extinguisher.  And the will to actually use it.

Screenshot-4326

“Are you all right?”

“Yes.  I think so.”

Screenshot-4327

“OH MY BERRY.  OWWWWW!”

Screenshot-4328

It was rather amusing to see him so worried.

Screenshot-4332

With the birth of the children, I finally had the freedom to act as I saw fit.

Screenshot-4333

“Hello, Snow.”

Screenshot-4334

“Hi.  You’re Cameron’s brother, right?  Aston?”

Screenshot-4337

“Yes.”

Screenshot-4338

“Would you like an apple?”

Screenshot-4339

“I didn’t know you’re a witch!”

“I’m not.”

This is a pretty interesting flavor…”

Screenshot-4341

Perfect.

Screenshot-4343

“Your wife is mine, Cameron.”
